Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Greenwich Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those query terms on its own systems.
Emails and Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information is retained as needed to answer you. It is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary web-server and analytics records may capture basic technical information when a page loads, including:
- The visitor's internet protocol address
- The browser name and version
- The device class and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Most browsers let users block or delete cookies, though some functions may work differently when cookies are disabled.
Reasons We Use Data
Collected information supports routine site operations and the services a visitor requests.
- Maintain site speed and availability
- Send a search request to the selected partner tool
- Measure which pages readers find useful
- Identify and repair technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect user interests
Links and Outside Services
Links may lead to Greenwich Police pages, Connecticut court and correction portals, federal locators, news outlets, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own privacy policy governs its collection and use of data.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure visits across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on their systems, not under this site's direct control.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed only as needed to these categories of recipients:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that serve ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Security Has Limits
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No internet-connected service can promise perfect security, so the site cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, a visitor may make the following requests:
- Ask for a copy of personal data held by the site
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of retained personal data
- Opt out of processing where an applicable right permits it
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as services or practices change. An updated version will appear on this page with a new effective date when appropriate.
